The 45th Anniversary Sarawak Joined Malaysia

We were on the stage, sitting there, waiting for our turn to perform, while the other performers, just like in the pic, stood the whole hour, waiting for the 'big people' to finish off with their speeches.
You see the flag...That's Malaysian Flag. & the yellow one, further front, is Sarawak Flag.

This post is about my performance on the 22nd July '08.

The celebration is for the 45th Anniversary of Independence since Sarawak joined Malaysia in 1963.

However, Malaysia has achieved its independence, & our 1st Prime Minister has shouted Merdeka!!! Merdeka!!! for 7 times, 51 years ago, on the 31st August 1957.

Sarawak, at that time, was still a very small, non-popular place. Because it's rich in raw materials, fuel & plantations, Malaysia wants to take over it.

Therefore, at the same time, Sarawak & Sabah joined the Malaysia we see now.

Crystal, my friend, & I.

&, finally, I want to say....

I w a n t t h i s !

Meimei, what is Merdeka means? Thanks for sharing your island's history. Yeah Sarawak and Sabah are somewhat far-flung to the mainland Malaysia. Its better though to be part of Malaysia than Indonesia I think.

Or better yet, be Sarawak - Sarawak, and Sabah - Sabah without being connected to Malaysia, then your island will not be a victim of too much corruption and graft.

I m so proud of u! :)

You played violin? What kind of instruments do you know how to play? So talented! I always see people who know how to play music are some smart people!

So, before Sarawak joined Malaysia, who ruled it?
